Meetings are held the second Monday of each month (except on statutory holidays when meetings are held on the second Monday of the month, and during July and August, when meetings are not held).

Family members & friends who have a loved one experiencing mental health difficulties, including, but not limited to, psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, and depression are all welcome to attend and participate.

Canada Post Foundation for Mental Health, 2010 Grant Recipients, National Launch

Funding provided to the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia will be used for a project entitled Expansion of Community-Based Volunteer Support Network and Strengthening of Mental Health System Advice/Connection Services. This project will include eight rural communities in Nova Scotia, incuding Cape Breton.

2nd Annual Road to Recovery Walkathon

Your participation increased the public’s awareness of schizophrenia and helped raise over $27,500 to support the extensive and crucial work of the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia. THANK YOU!

This year, in addition to the regular pledge sheets, we had online pledging! Walkers were able to set up their own pledge website, send e-mails to friends to request that they to make a pledge for them online, track their online pledges, and much more. Strengthening Families Together (SFT) Online Project


The Schizophrenia Society of Ontario has posted a series of videos adapted from the Strengthening Families Together (SFT) program developed by the Schizophrenia Society of Canada. To view the videos, please click here.




In-person delivery of SFT by the Halifax Chapter of the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia will resume in the fall of 2009 in both Halifax and Windsor. SSNS - AGM 2008

The 2008 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia (SSNS) was held on Saturday, September 6th.
